Capernwray isn’t just a place. It’s a movement encouraging generations to live more boldly in Christ, and now we need someone to help guide us into the next chapter.

That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a Trustee. Someone who sees the bigger picture but cares about the smallest details. Someone who loves a good challenge and knows the power of a strong vision. Someone who can help us stay true to who we are while shaping what we’ll become.

Do you have the following? Do you know anyone else who has?

Essential skills and experience

  • A living Christian faith and active involvement in a church community.
  • A willingness to support Christian ministry in either residential education, further education or in Christian holidays.
  • A commitment to safeguard the evangelical Christian distinctiveness of Capernwray
which will enable us to proclaim the transforming presence of Jesus Christ through
biblical teaching and practical training, equipping men and women for service in His
    Church worldwide.
  • A commitment of at least 8-12 days per year that allows you to travel to Capernwray
for the four days of Board meetings per annum, or attend virtually as necessary.
Additional input in areas of expertise or knowledge as required.

How to apply

Applications comprising a covering letter and a full CV, including qualifications, relevant experience and how you fulfil the essential and desirable skills and experience, should be sent by email to the Secretary to the Board julie.burrows@capernwray.org.

If you wish to speak to someone informally, please contact Brian Wickens (Managing Director) or Nicola Firth (Chair of Trustees) via brian.wickens@capernwray.org.

Your application should confirm that you affirm Capernwray’s Statement of Faith and Our Values, and provide names of one church referee and one professional referee. Referees will not be contacted unless you are invited to interview.

Closing date: Monday 10 February 2025

Interviews will be held in person at Capernwray Hall on Wednesday 5 March 2025.
An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.

Commitment

Board meetings normally take place at Capernwray Hall, Lancashire. There are four Board meetings per year, usually meeting informally the evening before, plus one further strategy day.
