“I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus. I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ.”

These words from Paul to Philemon give us a glimpse of the joy of partnering with others in our work for the Lord Jesus Christ.

This week we have been thanking God for Capernwray’s partnership in the faith with Operation Mobilisation (OM). We and our students were blessed by praying with our brothers and sisters from OM at a recent Prayer Concert, praying round the world with globes, films, songs and testimonies to help us.

As two ministries motivated by mission, and with an association over many years, Capernwray and OM are thrilled to be building even stronger links. In addition to leading us in prayer, Matthew Skirton (OM’s UK Chief Executive) teaches on mission at each Bible School.

We are delighted to promote OM’s short-term global mission opportunities to our students, in the hope that some will be able to move on from Capernwray to Live out Love in imaginative ways, be it a Race across Europe, (8 weeks on trains through Europe stopping to share the gospel along the way), Helping Ukrainian Refugees in Poland (through aid distribution, English lessons and Bible stories) or ‘Love Moldova’ outreaches (trekking or on the river, visiting the least-reached communities).

Our intent is that a closer alliance over the longer term will support each other’s ministries, knowing we can be more effective together than alone. From Matthew Skirton’s own point of view: “We celebrate the way the Lord continues to work through the ministry at Capernwray and we as OM are so excited to be in this partnership. It is our prayer that by working together we will see so many more young people discipled, growing in their love for Jesus and themselves becoming disciple-makers among the nations.”

Joining forces to deliver OM’s flagship youth event Teen Street UK at our beautiful premises at Capernwray from Summer 2024 is a particular highlight. We can showcase the unique opportunities to be taught and equipped for service here, knowing that Biblical training of teens and young adults may galvanise more mission placements and increased commitment to praying and giving towards missions.

Please pray with us that our partnership with OM in the faith may be effective in four ways: deepening the understanding of many; an increase in love; an increase in faith in the Lord Jesus; and continued thanksgiving for every good thing we share through Christ.
