We are incredibly thankful to be able to tell you about this wonderful addition to our facilities: three brand-new Music Rooms which house a variety of 25 instruments for our students and volunteers to learn new music, practise existing skills and praise the Lord with sung worship.
The space includes three separate areas: one for larger band or ensemble practice; a second as creative space for brainstorming, writing, composing and set planning and a smaller room for solo practising or learning instruments.
We want to acknowledge the specialist skills of our in-house Projects Team (Dave Carter and Dave Gradwell – shown below cutting the ribbon) whose high quality work has turned the old weights room into this transformed creative space. Our AV Team (Heather Tallents and James Lawrie) along with our Ministry Assistants have contributed a huge amount of hard work and specialist input. Thank you to the team!
Kind friends have also blessed us with their help. We are grateful to Mark Gray from the nearby King Sound Studio for his vision and advice on design and purchasing. Laura Story helped us develop ideas while she was here in the summer, and to help our sung worship leaders grow in their skill and understanding she has kindly offered further collaboration going forward.
The students started using the rooms this week. Their comments so far have been incredibly positive, including for the great musical vibe, the inspirational nature of the set up and the quality of the sound insulation.

And as a sneak peek, we can tell you that these rooms will be an important part of the Music Stream on offer during our Spring Bible School. For Spring School we plan to offer several different (optional) streams – more details to follow later in the year.

We can’t wait to see how these new facilities will be used to glorify God, and to equip and inspire our students and guests in the service of His Church in the years to come. It may well be that in your church in the 2030s you will be singing a song penned at Capernwray in the 2020s.
