If you’re applying from overseas, you can only volunteer with Capernwray if you already have the right to work in the UK or you hold an eligible visa. In some situations, we may be able to sponsor volunteers for the SALT programme under the Charity Worker (Temporary Worker) visa route, usually for applicants with a previous connection to Capernwray. Sponsorship is limited and not guaranteed. You are responsible for visa fees and must have appropriate travel and medical insurance before you can volunteer with us.
| Yes – I can volunteer | No – I can’t volunteer |
| If you are a UK or Irish citizen, have pre-settled/settled status, hold a Youth Mobility Scheme visa, hold a Graduate visa, or are sponsored under the Charity Worker (Temporary Worker) visa (limited places). | If you need general UK work sponsorship or are seeking paid work, a volunteer role won’t be suitable. |

Insurance
All Voluntary Workers from outside the UK must also have full travel and health/medical insurance for the duration of their stay. It must include coverage for cancellation, curtailment, personal liability, personal accident, medical and healthcare expenses, medical repatriation, and lost property.
If you hold a Youth Mobility Visa or a Charity Worker Visa, you will have to pay the immigration health surcharge to be covered by the NHS (National Health Service) during your stay. This does not cover private medical care or repatriation by medical flight, so you must also have valid private travel insurance (including medical coverage).
