Capernwray has a wonderful history of welcoming people from many different nationalities and this privilege still continues. This has meant the ‘Good News’ of our Lord Jesus Christ and the life available through Him has no geographical limits! Capernwray first of all and without apology desires to proclaim Christ. We seek to do this in the following ways:
- Outreach Events: There are opportunities in prison ministry, senior citizens centres, Sunday schools, youth groups, open air work, school assemblies, classes and Christian unions, practical, social work and much, much more. We have great relationships with many local churches and often partner with their ministries. Student teams also sometimes conduct their services. We have sporting outreach opportunities where students enter teams into local SportsReach football and netball leagues. These are great to meet people from the local community and take part in a gospel focussed mission.
- Sunday Church: All students will be linked with local churches and involved in their services, and where possible will have opportunities to serve and get involved. This forms a compulsory part of your outreach commitment.
- Outreach Placement Week: There is an Outreach Placement Week during the second term of Winter School in which all students work with several UK churches, and there are opportunities for national and international missions. There are also a number of outreach events that are held at Capernwray throughout the year including our Christmas Presentation and Open Day.
- Taster Weeks: During Bible School we have Taster Weeks where people come and experience what it is like to be a student for up to 4 weeks. There will be opportunities to welcome these Taster Week students and be their ‘buddy’ for the week that they are here.
Mission opportunities with OM
As two ministries motivated by mission, and with an association over many years, Capernwray and Operation Mobilisation (OM) are thrilled to be building even stronger links. We are delighted to promote OM’s short-term global mission opportunities to our students, for those who want to move on from Capernwray to Live out Love in imaginative ways.
