It’s time to reflect on the last year and get ready for a new start at Capernwray. We’ve got everything you need to kick things off right – inspiring Bible teaching, lots of laughs, and plenty of space to take a deep breath.

The days will be filled with morning and evening worship, exploring God’s Word, and just the right amount of fun – from strolls through our stunning grounds to action-packed activities for those who still have some energy left after the holidays.

And on New Year’s Eve? We’re going big. Join us for a special meal, a night of games, activities, and of course, Ceilidh dancing – because nothing says “welcome to New Year” like attempting to remember dance moves in a group of people equally committed to joyful chaos. Fancy dress is optional (Theme: A Night at the Movies), but strongly encouraged. Let’s be honest, when else will you have an excuse to wear that costume again?

Whether you’re looking to reflect, recharge, or just have a good laugh, we can’t wait to ring in the new year with you. This holiday is designed for adults, but if your kids want to join and crash in your room, they’re more than welcome to come along for the ride.

Hester Martin – “1 Peter: Hope for the Journey
As we begin 2025 together at Capernwray, my prayer is that as we spend time looking at the letter of 1 Peter you may be filled and refreshed by the living hope found in these words. I’m looking forward to exploring together what this living hope looks like practically in our lives. When faced with difficulties and pressures, 1 Peter offers profound hope and a deep encouragement to remain steadfast in faith. 1 Peter calls us to live hope-filled lives as, ultimately, we can cast all our anxiety on Him. Jesus cares for us in more ways than we can even dare to grasp ourselves.

Paul Baxendale – “Esther and the Invisible Hand of God
The revelation of God’s powerful and gracious providence at work preserving His people and forwarding His gospel plan through all the details of life (especially the difficult ones) should fill us with hope and joy as we face the future of a New Year.
